The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend the Opening Ceremony
We’re delighted to announce Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be attending the One Young World Summit in Manchester this September!
The Duchess will be delivering a keynote address at our Opening Ceremony at the iconic Bridgewater Hall. The Duke and Duchess will also be meeting with a group of Summit delegates doing outstanding work on gender equality.
The Duchess has been a One Young World Counsellor since 2014. As well as attending the One Young World Opening Ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall 2019, she also hosted a roundtable for gender equality activists at Windsor Castle, at which the Duke of Sussex was also present.
She has continued to work with and support a number of One Young World Ambassadors, particularly those working for equal rights for women and girls.
Summit
The annual One Young World Summit brings together 2,000+ of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally. Delegates from 190+ countries are counselled by influential political, business, and humanitarian leaders such as Justin Trudeau, Paul Polman and Meghan Markle, and many others to harness the knowledge and skills needed for being impactful change makers.
Delegates participate in four transformative days of speeches, panels, networking, and workshops. They also have the opportunity to apply to give keynote speeches, sharing a platform with global leaders with the world’s media in attendance.
Delegates have the opportunity to challenge world leaders, engage with, and be mentored by expert industry influencers and make lasting connections. Together we celebrate our young leaders through social events and the unforgettable Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

It is a chance for the individuals responsible for shaping the future of our world, to come together to confront the biggest challenges facing humanity. The Summit is the ultimate place to be inspired, share learnings, and connect. Together we raise the bar for what it is possible to achieve as leaders, individually and collectively. The One Young World Summit 2022 will take place in Manchester, UK from 5 – 8 September 2022.
Venues
The One Young World 2022 Manchester Summit will be held at various venues across the city. The Opening Ceremony will be held in the internationally renowned concert venue, Bridgewater Hall, home of the Hallé Orchestra. Digital Delegates will be able to join us on our Digital Platform.
Our Delegates and special guests will spend a transformative three days at the award-winning and iconic venue of Manchester Central, for a variety of speeches, panels, workshops and networking events.
Manchester Central is an award-winning venue in the heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities; its vaulted arches and station clock have made the venue an iconic city feature for more than 140 years. Located in the heart of Manchester, a city bursting with character, the venue is surrounded by a vibrant cultural and social scene.
Evening social programmes will take place at a selection of Manchester venues, showcasing the thriving food and drink scene Manchester has to offer.
