Highlighting that oceans cover the majority of the planet’s surface, produce a large portion of the world’s oxygen, and support billions of people, he also pointed out that only a small fraction of these waters are currently protected.
During the event, Prince William engaged in a meaningful conversation with Sir David Attenborough about the ongoing damage to deep ocean environments. Their discussion emphasised the vital role of optimism and involving younger generations in conservation initiatives. As the founder of the Earthshot Prize, Prince William continues to champion innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
