Zug Castle,  Zug, Switzerland

Zug Castle is one of the landmarks of the City of Zug. It was the seat of the ruling class, the Lenzburgs, Kyburgs and Habsburgs. After Zug joined the Swiss Confederation in 1352, the Castle came into private ownership and for centuries thereafter served as a prestigious residence for important Zug families. Since the extensive restoration work carried out from 1979 to 1982, the Castle has been a museum of cultural history for the City and Canton of Zug.
