Theaterfabrik

In this theater course, a Rube Goldberg machine is designed and built. This consists of many individual stations, which trigger the next station by a trigger.
Once set in motion, such a machine goes through a chain reaction. The goal of the machine here is simply to make things happen and make it fun to see in action.

We build with all the materials and shapes we can find: string, rods, cardboard, wood, but also finished objects such as pots, bags, metal scraps, etc. can be integrated into this machine and animated.

During construction, the texts for the actors are being developed. The aim is that the text is based on the character and behavior of a particular station on the machine. Without describing what you see – but opening up a new level.
Put together, these fragments are then condensed into a story that is embodied in several roles by the actors.

Within this machine there will be gaps that will be filled by humans. This can either be the spectators later, or the players themselves.

We do exercises from established acting practices, go into moderated partner contacts, play, do movement games and challenge our voice.
Then we get in touch with the materials and playfully start with the first small modules.
Then we go in relation to what we have built and set in motion the modules that we physically imitate or counteract. Through this process and through intensive partner encounters, texts, poems, music and noises can condense into an action that we have experienced with our fellow players.
Moderated individual work on stage with guided feedback rounds condense individual experiences into acting techniques and round off the artistic process.

No special skills or knowledge are required for this course.
Materials and tools are provided by Theaterfabrik.
