Quai de Bouregreg, Rabat, Morocco
With a total length of 1.5 km, the quays and landing stages of Rabat were opened to the public during the 2007 summer season. The shore of Rabat is now equipped with restaurants and cafes, secure landing stages for barcassiers crossing the river, as well as moorings for speedboats and large boats.
The quays welcome cafes, restaurants, an area for rides and games for children, as well as a nautical club and an area dedicated to stilt sport for the benefit of sportspeople in the Rabat-Salé conurbation. The quays also offer an event space that has hosted many major events such as the Mawazine festival, Earth Day 2010, Maroc Hit Parade, as well as several other artistic and cultural events.
