Port Clements Historical Society Museum, BC, Canada

The little village of Port Clements nestles beside an inlet on the misty and distant Queen Charlotte Islands, which had its name officially changed to Haida Gwaii in 2010. Port Clements has been settled and developed only very recently as far as history goes, almost within living memory. The artefacts of pioneer life still exist here and they have been donated to the village museum where they form a unique glimpse of life as it once was.The museum is operated by the Port Clements Historical Society. The Society was formed in 1985 and after countless volunteer hours the museum opened its doors in 1987. The indoor and outdoor displays are open daily to the public from June to September and on weekends for the remainder

of the year. The archives are not open to the public but arrangement can be made with the archivist for access to items. Tours are always welcome and arrangements can be made for special openings. We have teamed up with the Village of Port Clements and now serve as the Village’s Visitor’s Information Centre. Visit Canada. Epic Canada Route © Monika Newbound
