Oakura is protected from the southerlys nice and calm and beautiful walk. You can walk either along the beach or along the walkway.
Oakura is a great beach break, heaps of fun. Offers both right and left handers, which can get hollow and provide some power. It has several peaks down the beach that can change depending on the tide. Check the river mouths for different thats may be working. There is also an outer reef which can be an option on a big swell. Good for all levels. It gets very popular in summer, so watch out for swimmers.
