North Cape Museum, Finnmark, Norway

The North Cape Museum displays the local coastal culture of Finnmark. Fishery, whaling and the hunting of seagoing birds have always been the basis of life on the coast of Finnmark, and these themes are the focus of the museum’s exhibits. The discussion of today’s “King crab” is among the themes. The exhibition also tells the story of the countless people who have visited the North Cape from the 1600s until today, eager to experience “the end of the world”. In the museum there are also exhibitions on World War II and the reconstruction of Honningsvåg after the war.
