Monastery of Saint David, Greece
The Monastery of Saint David, which is located in the heart dense area in the low mountains “Horseman” and “Xiron term” opposite of Mt. village and above the village Kalamoudi, is dedicated to the Transfiguration.
In the church of the Monastery kept in the reliquary Artist fragrant and miraculous bones of St. David the Elder, the censer and stole St. (Russian origin) and other valuable relics.
Also, around and outside the monastery you can visit many churches in memory of various Saints. Do not forget to visit the hermitage of Saint David, covering walk a short distance to the cave where the hermit miraculous Saint.
Worth the passage from the basement of the Agion ekklisidio Saints in SE wing of the monastery cells, where you have the opportunity to admire paintings from the 17th century.Indeed in this catacomb church during the Turkish occupation it is said to operate “secret school”.
