Mayak Restaurant, Baku, Azerbaijan

Like sailing on the Caspian but without the need for a boat, this exclusive curl of modernism sits at the end of its own pier, jutting into the sea from Baku’s southern bayside promenade near Flag Square. Wrapped with diamond-faceted windows, views of the city are memorable, while within the atmosphere is relaxing with a touch of romance, augmented at times by live jazz or more occasionally with DJ sessions. Mayak means ‘lighthouse’ and the venue sees itself as a beacon of tasteful, multi-styled cuisine dining with both indoor and outdoor terrace seating possibilities plus three VIP banquet rooms with private facilities for groups of 40 to 70 people.
