The Paris 2024 shooting events will take place at the Terrain des Essences in La Courneuve in the Seine Saint- Denis department. Spanning 13 ha, the Terrain des Essences – a former fuel storage site owned by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces that is now abandoned – needs to be cleaned up, redeveloped and regenerated by 2024.

The 15 Olympic shooting events, as well as the Paralympic shooting events (number of events to be determined) will take place in temporary facilities, namely two indoor competition halls and one outdoor facility. After the Games, the Terrain des Essences will become a natural area connected to the 417 ha Georges Valbon departmental park (which includes a 310
ha Natura 2000 site), with an entrance on avenue Waldeck Rochet, near the Dugny-La Courneuve stop on tramline T11. Extending the park and creating new landscaped areas in La Courneuve – a strong environmental legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games – provides a unique opportunity to bring together habitats and biodiversity while ensuring existing natural habitats continue to thrive. women men mixed
