The Gigi Proietti Globe Theatre Silvano Toti, where Elizabethan tragedies and comedies will be re-enacted, is a space that, thanks to the particular architectural features and the essentiality of the scenes, will allow a cathartic relationship with the works of the English Renaissance theater
The beauty and charm of Rome lie not only in its historical artistic heritage but also in the contemporary works that confirm and renew its image as the capital of world culture. The inauguration of the Silvano Toti Globe Theatre took place at a particularly significant time for Rome, which celebrated the centenary of Villa Borghese in 2003 with this Elizabethan theatre, virtually twinning with the city of London, home of the famous Globe Theatre. The construction of the Silvano Toti Globe Theatre was made possible thanks to the Silvano Toti Foundation, an association created by the Toti family to honour the memory of Silvano Toti, patron and entrepreneur. In this way, the Foundation intends to offer its contribution to the cultural growth of the city where the Toti family was born, also entrepreneurially, and to which it feels connected and grateful.
