Ms Josephine Gauld HMA, British Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire

Josephine Gauld has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire since August 2016. Josephine joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2002. She has previously served as Second Secretary in Kinshasa (2004-2007), First Secretary in Abidjan (2007-2009) and Deputy Head of Political Section in Abuja (2012-2014). She has also held several positions in the FCO covering the Balkans, the South Caucasus and the UK’s response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014. Josephine has a degree in Italian and Philosophy from Leeds University, a Master’s in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a Diploma in Public Administration from l’Ecole Nationale d’administration (ENA) in France.
