Barmini by José Andrés

Minibar, a two Michelin-starred restaurant, is a study in avant-garde cooking where each bite is designed to thrill the senses by pushing the limits of what we have come to expect – and what is possible – from food. The creations combine art and science, as well as tradition and technique, to deliver an imaginative and progressive tasting menu, offered at a communal setting.

Barmini is José Andrés’ cocktail lab adjacent to minibar that celebrates classic cocktails alongside distinctly modern creations. Offering a menu of more than 100 libations in addition to experiential flights and inventive snacks, barmini is DC’s premier cocktail destination. It is a learning center where chefs and bartenders collaborate and where heritage meets innovation. Allow our bar team to take you on an adventure of some of the most unique cocktails at barmini. This flight focuses on modern techniques that put an unconventional twist on some of your favorite libations. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

BarMini, at 855 E St NW, is what we like to call the ‘sister’ of Jose Andre’s Minibar. And we talked about the Minibar in our article Toughest Restaurant Reservations in the World. This restaurant, more a bar, features a menu of more than 100 drinks. New creations and classic cocktails… those are the drinks you’ll get. And what a lovely evening you’ll have! The bar’s cocktail program is headed by Juan Cornado, who holds the title of Cocktail Innovator. We recommend Cotton Candy Old Fashioned, which is already a curious combination. The cotton candy is flavored with mezcal. You’ll love it! BarMini also has a kitchen with a adjacent minibar. The menu focuses on dishes with gourmet twists, such as grilled cheese laced with truffles.
