International Culinary Center

A high-end center of fine dining restaurants in New York City is the restaurant of the former French Culinary Institute of New York. The deans of the program–Jacques Pépin, Alain Sailhac, André Soltner and Jacques Torres–are among the best chefs in the culinary world and oversee the dishes prepared by the students at the institute. The food focuses on French and European cuisine. Zagat awarded the restaurant 25 out of 30 points for food in 2009 and according to Michelin, “The kitchen earns top marks for its four- or five-course dinner menus, and the prix-fixe lunch menu is a great–and inexpensive–way to sample the flavorful regional French fare.” The ambiance is sophisticated yet casual with an interior that features large floral arrangements, marble and granite surfaces, large windows and soft lighting. There are several menus to choose from, including a four-course prix fixe dinner, a five-course prix fixe dinner and a chef’s classic menu, featuring recipes from some of the finest French chefs in the world.
