Xinjiang Kanas National Geopark, Xinjiang Weiwuerzizhiqu, China
With its alpine ice lakes, grassy marshlands, scenic villages, and evergreen forests, Xinjiang Kanas National Geopark offers great hiking and climbing opportunities. Unlike any other region in China, the area surrounding the lake looks a bit like the Siberian taiga, and the three bay areas offer numerous scenic spots, including a peak where three international borders meet. Climb nearly 1,000 steps to reach a lofty pavilion, where you can take in panoramic views of the entire valley. You can also go horseback riding, rent a jeep, or cruise around the lake.
