Wellington Ataturk Memorial, Breaker Bay, Wellington 6022, New Zealand
The memorial is at Tarakena Bay on Wellington’s South Coast overlooking the entrance to Wellington harbour.
Ataturk was the commander of the Turkish forces at Gallipoli, who went on to become the founder of modern Turkey. The memorial is modellied after one that Ataturk erected at Gallipoli to the foreign soldiers who fought and died there.
Access is from Breaker Bay Road,next to the Tarakena Bay entrance to the Eastern Walkway.
