In the world cultural heritage Völklinger Hütte two cultures meet: Western industrial culture and the eastern culture of Buddhism. “Buddha collectors open their treasure chambers – 232 masterpieces of Buddhist art from 2,000 years” offers a unique overview of the Buddhist art of Asia from the 1st century BC to the end of the 18th century. Many of the exhibits are, according to experts, one of the best pieces of their kind or even the best works of their type, which are known all over the world! The photo works by Steve McCurry show everyday life and religious life in Buddhist countries of the 20th and 21st century.
