Vitoslavlitsy Museum, Veliky Novgorod, Novgorod Oblast, Russia
“Vitoslavlitsy” – one of the most interesting museums of folk wooden architecture – is located 4 kilometers from Veliky Novgorod, in a picturesque area on the bank of the Myachino Lake near St. George’s Monastery. In 1964, the first exhibit was taken there – the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin in 1595 from the village of Kuritsko. In the 12th century the Panteleimon monastery was founded here. Now the museum contains the best preserved to our days samples of folk wooden architecture.
