Victory Memorial Historical Museum, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia

The Memorial of Victory museum opened its doors on 30th anniversary of the Victory Day in 1975. It’s located at the historical part of Krasnoyarsk on the Pokrovsky Hill (near the Troickoe graveyard), because here were burned Russian soldiers, who had died in the city military hospital. So at the memorial plaza you can find 22 tomb stones of their common graves, which reminds us about this tragedy.
Our museum consists of three halls. Memory hall shows the list of Krasnoyarsk’s soldiers’ names, who were killed during World War II. Collection of WWII artifacts and archival materials are exhibited in the second hall. Third hall serves as a meeting place for community organizations.

The Memorial of Victory museum conducts free excursions round its halls, prepares thematic lectures for students and organizes meetings.

Today it’s the only museum in Krasnoyarsk that dedicates all of the thousands citizens, who lived and died in The Great Patriotic War
