In 1913, an outdoor relaxation area was created at the Vaux-Hall in the Royal Park of Brussels. It was surrounded by a U-shaped covered gallery and a structure built in Louis XVI style. The extraordinary, but unsung site was neglected for a long time. Only recently it has been restored meticulously for over 4 years. From the summer of 2017, the City of Brussels wants to return to its original function by programming cultural events (also for families).
Since 2017, the stunning Vaux-Hall in the Parc de Bruxelles, behind the Royal Theatre, was opened to the public in the summer months with a diverse cultural programme.
Originally a concert hall and games room opened in 1781, the venue was radically redeveloped by the City of Brussels in 1913. After falling into disrepair, it finally came back to life a few years ago.
Vaux-Hall Summer has become an event popular with young and old, who come together to attend concerts, film screenings, storytelling sessions and performances, or to take part in workshops, dance lessons, games…
Thanks to some incredible collaborations, dozens of artists showcase outdoor art in this magical location every year.
