Trollhätte Canal, Romelanda, Vastra Gotaland County, Sweden
The small “big brother” of Göta Kanal has a length of 82 km and is half as long as Göta Kanal. It has only 6 locks but their dimensions are for freight vessels of up to 4000 tons. It’s over long distances an industrial canal. But, Göta Kanal would be a dead end without it!
Even though, the stretch Vänernsee to Kattegat can be managed in one day is the marina of Lila Edet worthwhile a stop. The oldest lock of Sweden can be looked at there.
