Toulouse Lautrec Museum, Albi, Midi-Pyrenees, France
The Toulouse-Lautrec museum has been installed since 1922 in the prestigious Palace of Berbie built by the bishops of Albi in the thirteenth century. The collection was created thanks to the legacy of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s parents. The museum contains the largest collection in the world of the artist’s works (paintings, lithographs, dessisn, preparatory studies). These work of arts reveal his exceptional qualities as a colourist and his favorite subjects.
Restructuring undertaken since 2001 will enable the museum to assert its place among the great contemporary museums (temporary exhibition hall, auditorium, studio workshops ..). Numerous exhibitions, lecture series and workshops for children organized by the Toulouse-Lautrec museum provide a deeper understanding of the work of the artist.
