Theatre Royal Windsor
A diverse range of shows from live music acts to dramatic theatre, plus a Picturehouse cinema. This beautiful theatre is the jewel in the crown of the Royal Borough of Windsor, just a stone’s throw away from the historic Windsor Castle. We are the only unsubsidised producing theatre to operate all year round in Britain and with a history that stretches back over 200 years.
Our vision is to provide a first-class regional theatre that is recognised nationally, that produces and presents a core programme of drama and theatre for all residents and visitors to the Windsor area. Acting as a key cultural hub, encouraging participation, learning and engagement with performing arts and supporting the development of performers, creatives, staff and audiences.
Our repertoire is wide, ranging from classic drama and over 80 continuous years of traditional pantomime to first productions of new work some of which subsequently transfer to the West End. We both receive shows from theatre companies across the UK and internationally in addition to producing and opening Windsor made production and launching many UK Tours. The Theatre Royal has gained a reputation for the quality of its productions and we are currently one of Britain’s leading regional theatres.
