Théâtre gallo-romain, Lyon, Rhone-Alpes, France

The oldest ancient Gallo-Roman theater in France dominates the majority of the city of Lyon . The large ancient theater is 108 meters in diameter and can contain about 11,000 spectators. Numerous events take place all year round, including the famous ” Nuits de Fourvière “.

The Gallo-Roman Odeon of Lyon was built at the beginning of the second century. It measures 73 meters in diameter with a capacity of about 3000 seats. This building hosted mainly music performances and conferences. The thickness of the walls suggests that a roof should cover all the stands.
