Originally a coaching inn established in the 17th century, then rebuilt and re-branded after a famous steam engine when the railways arrived, the Samson Inn has been welcoming weary travellers for centuries. Today we’re proud to continue that tradition in our friendly bar, serving delicious home-cooked food and offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. At The Samson Inn, our kitchen celebrates the best of what our region offers, bringing together ingredients sourced from local farms and our passion for home-cooked meals.
Each dish on our menu is made with care, reflecting both traditional recipes and the freshness of nearby fields and farms. We believe that the quality of a meal lies in its simplicity—seasonal vegetables, tender meats, and hearty grains, all cooked to perfection. With every bite, we want you to experience the warmth of a true, rustic meal, where flavours are familiar, and dining feels like gathering at a family table.
Here, good food isn’t just a pleasure; it’s a way to connect, savour, and share. Cosy Rooms Clean, cosy and comfortable bedrooms, offering all the facilities and extras you need for a great stay.
