The Hon Nigel Feetham KC is a distinguished legal professional and dedicated public servant whose career exemplifies commitment, expertise, and visionary leadership. Admitted to the Gibraltar Bar in 1993, he has amassed over three decades of experience in financial services law, establishing himself as a leading figure in the field. His tenure at Hassans, Gibraltar’s largest law firm, was marked by significant contributions to the development of financial services legislation and regulatory frameworks, benefiting both local and international clients.
In April 2019, Nigel was appointed King’s Counsel, recognising his exceptional contributions to the legal profession. Transitioning from law to public service, he was co-opted into the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party executive in 2023, reflecting his commitment to civic engagement. Following the GSLP/Liberal Alliance’s victory in the October 2023 general election, he was elected as a Member of Parliament and appointed Minister for Justice, Trade, and Industry. In this role, he oversees critical sectors including Financial Services, Gaming, Taxation, and Justice.
Minister Feetham’s vision focuses on enhancing Gibraltar’s competitiveness and fostering employment opportunities, particularly for the youth. He is credited with launching the Connect Hub initiative to support this commitment. One of his early achievements was his pivotal role in Gibraltar’s removal from the FATF “grey list” in 2024.
