The Gannet Michelin Restaurant

This appealingly rustic restaurant makes passionate use of Scotland’s larder and as such, its menus are constantly evolving. Classic dishes are presented in a modern style and are brought to the table by a charming team. The chefs demonstrate a good understanding of flavour combinations. The Gannet opened in Glasgow’s Finnieston neighbourhood September 2013 by three friends Ivan Stein, Peter Read and Peter McKenna, Kevin Dow joined them in 2014.

The restaurant was named during a research trip to the Outer Hebrides where the iconic seafaring bird holds a special place in local tradition. We were taken by its unique look, ability to hunt and being a reference to those of us with robust appetites. At The Gannet we serve a seasonally changing multi-course menu inspired by our network of small artisan producers, foragers and farmers.

The kitchen, headed up by Peter Mckenna, blends traditional and contemporary technique creating a distinctly modern Scottish fine dining experience. Kevin Dow leads the front of house team with a style that is informal, relaxed but informed. A true reflection of the charm that Glasgow is widely known for. Our wine list is compact, made up of modern and classic styles from both the old and new world, with a emphasis on small scale, artisanal growers.
