You hear the words ‘ pub landlord’ and you immediately think Al Murray – grumpy, foul-mouthed lager lout – here at the Blackburne Arms we are delighted to introduce quite the opposite! ……. Since taking over the Blackburne Arms Stephen Sinclair, a scouser born and bred, along with his beautiful wife Lina has re-established the place into a warmly welcoming gastropub! Considered by many as a focal point in the heart of the Georgian Quarter, as it continues to regenerate and is fast becoming know to locals & tourists as the ‘coolest’ part of the city!
Stephen spent many years in London polishing his skills & knowledge under Marco PW and followed this up by leading the hospitality team at the conference centre! So he is no stranger to excellent service, quality produce and delivering high standards! After many years in the big smoke, the sparkle of the city lights faded and after marrying the women of his dreams – they decided to head back up north, in the hope of using their years of experience & hard work and re-direct their passion into a ‘LOCAL BOOZER’ in need of some TLC!
Between them, they have managed to establish a much-loved community pub that welcomes its many neighbours at the same time as using their incredible knowledge of great food & cocktails …..but most importantly up north ……. what it takes to pour ‘ a sound pint’!!!! Lina’s superb eye for detail has transformed what some described as a dated interior into that of one with a sleek individuality and creative edge, whilst simultaneously maintaining the character which many places struggle to achieve! Not to mention, a fabulous boutique hotel upstairs, with each of its 7 bedrooms painstakingly designed & decorated by her fair hands – a true labour of love! On top of all the aforementioned changes, they are both extremely proud to consistently receive praise from not only local food critics but national guides! Closest to their hearts is the approval of their loyal regular customers that frequent the pub week in, week out!
All of which have culminated in their greatest honour …… being known as ‘Liverpool’s Best Roast’!!!
