Tempel Synagogue

The Tempel Synagogue in Kraków is a stunning example of 19th-century Jewish architecture located in the city’s Kazimierz district. Built in 1862, the synagogue is one of the most significant and beautifully preserved Jewish religious buildings in Poland. Known for its impressive neo-Renaissance design, it features a grand interior with intricate wooden carvings, a painted ceiling, and large stained-glass windows. It has long been a symbol of the thriving Jewish community in Kraków before World War II.

After significant restoration work in the 20th century, the Tempel Synagogue now serves not only as a place of worship but also as a cultural center. It hosts a variety of events, including concerts, lectures, and exhibitions focusing on Jewish heritage and history. The synagogue is an important cultural landmark, attracting visitors interested in both the architectural beauty and the rich history of Kraków’s Jewish community. Located in the Kazimierz district, this synagogue is a beautiful example of Moorish Revival architecture and a center for Jewish cultural events.
