Step into “the age of sail” aboard this majestic replica of an 1800’s coasting cargo schooner. Manitou offers two hour sails, “Floating Bed & Breakfast”, and multi-day windjammer cruises.
Our days of sailing included everything from gentle sailing, motoring, and a day of wild waves, speeding through the water at 10.5 knots. I’m not a sailor, but found it most exciting and invigorating. There were 17 guests on our cruise.
Chatting with other passengers and the crew were certainly a highlight. I came with one friend, but felt like I left with a boatload of new chums. We spent our time helping the crew, reading, napping, visiting, eating – it all depended on each individuals’ interests and energy.
