Tahoe National Forest is a United States National Forest located in California, northwest of Lake Tahoe. It includes the 8,587-foot peak of Sierra Buttes, near Sierra City, which has views of Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta. It is located in parts of six counties: Sierra, Placer, Nevada, Yuba, Plumas and El Dorado.
The Tahoe National Forest is divided into four Ranger Districts, visit these sites for specific recreation activities: Yuba River (north), Yuba River (south), American River, Sierraville, and Truckee. Also associated with the Forest is the Big Bend Visitor Information Centerand Big Bend Museum. The Forest offers variety of interpretive programs.
The Tahoe National Forest is definitely one of the more beautiful forests in the United States. Encompasses an enormous area and many activities.
