Stiftsgården, Trondheim, Sor-Trondelag, Norway
Stiftsgården is the official royal residence in Trondheim. The wooden palace was built in the 1770s as a private home, boasting around 140 rooms, for the affluent Mrs. Schøller.
Stiftsgården was acquired by the state in 1800. It is one of the most important buildings in Norwegian architectural history, built in the transitional period between Rococo and Classicism.
