Stelvio Pass Sondrio, Italy

The Stelvio Pass is a mountain pass in northern Italy, at an elevation of 2,757 m above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps, just 45 m below France’s Col de la Bonette.

The Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio forms together with the Swiss National park a big protected area for wildlife and plants, delimited in the North by the Swiss Engiadina Valley (villages of Chinuos-chel, Zernez, Scuol), the Mustair Valley (Tschierv, Sta. Maria, Mustair, Tubre), the Venosta Valley (Glurns/Glorenza, Schlanders/Silandro, Latsch/Laces), in the East by the Ulten/Ultimo Valley and the Rabbi Valley, in the South by the villages of Peio, Ponte di Legno and Vezza d’Oglio and in the West by the Valtellina (Sondalo, Valdisotto, BORMIO, Valdidentro), Livigno and S-chanf. The whole area is a biking paradise, stunning, beautiful and exciting.
