St. Mary’s Basilica

St. Mary’s Basilica, located in the heart of Kraków’s Main Market Square, is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The altarpiece, depicting scenes of the life of the Virgin Mary, is a masterpiece of European art. The church is also famous for the bugle call, or “Hejnal mariacki,” which is played every hour from the highest tower. Visitors can climb the tower for panoramic views of the city, making it a great spot for photography. The basilica remains an active place of worship, with Mass services taking place regularly. St. Mary’s Basilica is open daily from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The tower is open for visits from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
