A wide sandy beach set near many shops, restaurants, bike paths & activities. South Mission Beach is located at the southern end of the Golden Strand which runs from Pacific Beach Point to the Mission Bay channel. Perhaps the widest beach in the city, it is a popular place for sports such as beach volleyball and basketball. South Mission also has the only oceanfront area dedicated to playing “Over-The-Line”. The southern end of the cement boardwalk running the length of the Golden Strand is located in the eastern portion of the parking lot.
