Sommerrodelbahn Schatzalp

Exciting Alpine summer coaster offering thrills and breathtaking mountain views.

The Sommerrodelbahn Schatzalp is a delightful summer toboggan ride high above Davos, perfect for families and adventure lovers. The track stretches over 500 metres, weaving through twists, turns, and even a tunnel, delivering a fun-filled descent framed by the stunning Swiss Alps. Its open-air, simple design allows riders to feel the crisp mountain air as they speed down, making it a joyful experience for children and adults alike.

Accessing the ride is easy from the Schatzalp funicular station, followed by a short walk to the track. Each ride is followed by a gentle lift back to the top, letting visitors repeat the experience as often as they like. Along the way, riders are treated to sweeping views of alpine meadows, rugged peaks, and fresh mountain scenery that enhance the thrill of every curve and straightaway.

The ride welcomes children from three years old, with those under eight required to ride with an adult for safety. Its charm lies in its simplicity — rather than a high-tech amusement park coaster, it’s a nature-immersed adventure that feels timeless, making it a perfect complement to hiking or exploring the Schatzalp area.

Operating seasonally from late May to October, the toboggan run typically opens in mid-morning through late afternoon, depending on weather. It’s an ideal daytime activity for families or anyone looking for a spirited Alpine adventure that combines speed, scenery, and a touch of nostalgia. Visitors often combine the toboggan ride with other Schatzalp experiences, such as a scenic funicular journey, leisurely mountain walks, or enjoying refreshments at nearby terraces and cafés that showcase the region’s alpine charm.

Typical opening season and hours:
Late May to 26 October (weather dependent), usually 10:00–12:00 and 13:00–17:00, with continuous operation during busy periods. Minimum age 3 years; children under 8 accompanied by an adult.
