Scarborough Athletic Football Club (Formed 2007)

Rising from the ashes of Scarborough FC, Scarborough Athletic FC was founded on June 25, 2007, by a supporters’ trust called “The Seadog Trust.” This “phoenix club” proudly carried on the legacy, adopting the original club’s red kit, nickname (“The Seadogs”), motto (“No Battle No Victory”), and official logo. Due to the lack of a suitable ground in Scarborough, the new club initially played its home matches 18 miles away in Bridlington, enduring a decade in “exile” which showcased the unwavering loyalty of its fanbase, who consistently travelled in large numbers.

After years of determination, a new era began in July 2017 when Scarborough Athletic finally returned home to a purpose-built facility, the Flamingo Land Stadium, which is part of the Scarborough Sports Village at Weaponness. This emotional return was met with huge enthusiasm from supporters. Since their formation, Scarborough Athletic has steadily climbed the non-league pyramid, achieving multiple promotions. They were crowned champions of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division in 2012-13 and continued their ascent. Currently, Scarborough Athletic Football Club competes in the National League North, the sixth tier of the English football league system, continuing to build on the town’s proud footballing heritage.
