Sassi di Matera, Unesco Site, Matera, Italy
The Sassi di Matera are ancient if not incredible cave dwellings in the Italian city of Matera, Basilicata. Situated in the old town, they are composed of the Sasso Caveoso and the later Sasso Barisano.
