Russian Opera House, Vladivostok, Primorskiy kray, Russia
The State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater is the most modern theater in the Far East and one of the youngest in Russia. It was built for the APEC summit in 2012. The original design of the theater made it one of the attractions of the city. The building is designed as a “cube in a cube”. The most modern technologies were used during its construction.
The theater has three stages: the Grand Hall, The Small Stage and the Summer Stage. The Grand Hall is used for all premieres, large-scale opera and ballet performances, large symphonic and choral concerts. The Small Stage is used for chamber concerts and productions. Romance nights, small ballet scenes meet-the-artist events and press conferences are conducted here. The Summer Stage is designed for open performances and chamber orchestra concerts. This stage is open from late spring to early autumn.
The Grand Hall of the Theater is designed for large-scale opera and ballet performances. Its shape resembles a horseshoe; it has seats for up to 1390 viewers. Natural materials such as Philippine pine acoustic panels and guy-wire ceiling without metal parts create the unique sound of the Grand Hall. This system was configured with the help of Japanese specialists.
