Ruines Romaines De Tipaza, Algeria

A pretty coastal town 68 kilometers west of Algiers, Tipaza is home to the remains of an ancient Roman city. Founded by the Phoenicians, it passes into the hands of the Romans in the second century of our era, and expands to the west at the expense of an ancient Punic necropolis before being destroyed in the year 430 by the Vandals led by Genseric .
Tipaza is a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982. The first excavations were made there in 1895. Located on the coast, at the foot of Mount Chenoua, at the end of the Sahel hills, Tipaza has the charm that gives the proximity of the mountain and the sea. Thus, we can visit these Roman ruins in a beautiful natural setting .
