The Baviaanskloof Rooihoek wilderness area is not that easy to reach. The road is difficult, no more than a track in places that are washed away due to flooding in the past.
You have to cross numerous drifts on the way. The passes are steep and narrow, but once you are there, it is all worth it. Plan to stay a couple of days.
Be sure to be self sufficient. Barring a long drop, there are no other facilities available. Bring your own firewood, gas bottles, lights and whatever else you need to make yourself comfortable.
