As a Preforming Arts Theater, we want to be a lively place of encounter in which artists, visitors and employees meet each other with kindness, warmth and respect: Feel good and be welcome!

We would like to relate younger and older people to each other on socially relevant topics, with the opportunity to inspire each other, to learn from each other and to have fun with each other: Build bridges for generations!

We understand our work as a growing, evolving and constantly changing process that should be reviewed again and again in terms of diversity, equality and openness: Be informed, stay inspired!

Every season we ask ourselves a guiding question, which is published on our “quote wall” in the foyer and is visible to all visitors and employees. This is currently: How do we want to live together?

We are constantly in conversation with our artists, partners and visitors about this guiding question. She accompanies us in our work and reminds us daily of togetherness, social interaction and social commitment as a cultural worker.

We ask and treat the guiding question in our own productions as well as in our festival “Büchse26 – What we care about”. On our way, we are accompanied by a poem by Hilde Domin: “Don’t let yourself down, not yourself and others do not. This is the minimum utopia without which it is not worth being human.”
