Ramón Freixa Madrid Restaurant
Innovative tasting menus that pay homage to Spanish products in a haute cuisine restaurant with Michelin stars. That excites, that communicates and that provokes. In the heart of the Salamanca district, next to the secret garden of the Hotel Único Madrid, there is a place where art meets gastronomy. Dishes that hide stories and are discovered bite by bite. Sequences where tradition and avant-garde coexist. Madness and common sense. Compositions that do not forget that the protagonist will always be the flavor and that have deserved the international recognition of the chef Ramón Freixa who treasures in this restaurant 2 Michelin stars and 3 Repsol suns. Ramón Freixa leads a team in charge of bringing to the table one of the most creative and avant-garde proposals in the city. A concept where madness and common sense meet to make lunch or dinner an unforgettable moment for eleven years now.
Passionate, a perfectionist, approachable and fun, chef Ramón Freixa learnt the ropes as a child, pitching in at his family’s restaurant in Barcelona (El Racó d’en Freixa). He advocates a style of behaviour rather than a culinary doctrine: “the whole philosophy behind my cooking, just as in art and in life, revolves around the pursuit of happiness”.
This elegant restaurant, with its strikingly beautiful flooring, has a main dining area, a private dining room, and a glass-fronted terrace resembling a veranda – it all makes for a truly luxurious setting in the Salamanca district. The three tasting menus (“Temporalidad RFM”, “Descubriendo RFM” and “Universo Freixa”) might seem rather eccentric at first, but it soon becomes clear that they strike the perfect balance between traditional and cutting-edge cuisine.
