Railay Beach, Thailand

Railay, also known as Rai Leh, is a small peninsula between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. It is accessible only by boat due to high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access. Krabi’s fairytale limestone crags come to a dramatic climax at Railay (also spelled Rai Leh), the ultimate jungle gym for rock-climbing fanatics.

Accessible only by boat, this slice of paradise fills in the sandy gaps between each craggy flourish. It’s just around the bend from Ao Nang, so the tourist hustle sometimes spills over, but the atmosphere here remains one of laid-back, Thai-Rasta bliss.
