Spiritual pilgrimage site thought to date from the prophet Muhammad’s time in 7th century CE. The first mosque reportedly built during the time of Muhammad and located in Medina and is known as the Quba Mosque. Its first stones are supposed to have been positioned by the Prophet Mohamed after his arrival from Mekkah.
