Punte Alberete

A serene wetland area ideal for nature lovers, with opportunities for bird-watching and peaceful walks. Punte Alberete is a captivating freshwater wetland located approximately 10 km north of Ravenna, Italy, within the Po Delta Park. Spanning about 190 hectares, this oasis represents one of the last examples of flooded forest in Southern Europe, characterized by its unique geomorphology of alternating high and low areas.

The area is renowned for its rich biodiversity, serving as a crucial breeding ground for various bird species, including a significant population of herons. Notably, it hosts the only nesting site in Italy for the Little Bittern. The forest is predominantly composed of white poplar, oak, white willow, elm, alder, and ash, with a dense undergrowth of Carex elata.

Visitors can explore the oasis via well-maintained trails suitable for all ages, offering opportunities for birdwatching and immersing oneself in nature. The site is managed by the Ravenna Tourist Information Office, which provides further details on visiting hours and amenities. You can contact them at +39 0544 35404 or visit their official website at www.turismo.ra.it. While Punte Alberete does not maintain dedicated social media channels, updates are often shared through the Ravenna Turismo Facebook page.
