Praia do Calhau, São Luís, State of Maranhao, Brazil
Considered by many the most beautiful of the capital of Maranhão, Praia do Calhau seems to be in another city. The Avenida Litorânea that borders the beach is charming, urbanized, full of kiosks, bars and restaurants. There are also great options of hotels “foot in the sand” in this area.
Surrounded by dunes and coconut palms, the beach is taken by sunbathers and sports people on weekends. The scenery is beautiful and well cleaned. If the tide is low, something impressive in São Luís, you will notice how much water “enters” into the sea and how the sand strip is wide.
