The Praça General Tiburcio is a street located in the neighborhood of Urca , in the city of Rio de Janeiro , named after the Anthony Tiburcio Ferreira de Souza , professor and general in the Paraguayan War .
The Military Engineering Institute (IME), the Army Command and Staff School (ECEME) and the Naval War School (EGN) and the Pinho de Açúcar Bondinho station are located in the vicinity . Monument to the dead in the Communist Intent . In the square itself stands the Monument to the Heroes of Laguna and Dourados .
Ahead of the square is Red Beach , flanked by two fortresses, now occupied by the Military Circle of Praia Vermelha and the municipal school Gabriela Mistral.
