Port of Cotinière, Saint-Pierre-d’Oleron, Poitou-Charentes, France

This small artisanal fishing port , on the west coast of the commune is the 1st of the department and the 7th at the national level. This port with colorful boats specializes in the capture of noble species with fishing techniques respectful of quality. So we land there soles, line bars, langoustines, lobster, shrimp and a local specialty, a small flat fish much appreciated by connoisseurs.

In total, no less than 95 different species are auctioned each year. After the beach, La Cotinière is the place to go for a stroll on the seafront or to relax on the terrace of one of its many cafés. Varied shops and nocturnal unpacking provide entertainment.
The chapel Saint-Nicolas Our Lady of the waves , modern style was built in 1966.

Inside, the stained glass windows and the carpentry are quite remarkable. You can also see ex-votos for perishables at sea.
